Police and Safety in Aruba was created by HelgaM
Ever since the whole Natalie Holloway incident I am very nervous about my time in Aruba. I know they still haven't found her and they still haven't arrested anyone for her disappearance. As a person from the states I am very worried about my safety and my families safety. She was going there for a class trip and we are going for vacation and I'm just afraid that if something happens the cops won't do anything to help us. Is it safe to trust the cops in Aruba?

While it is normal to worry when you are on a trip you need to keep the same thoughts in mind as you would at home. They will catch the person responsible, its their job, and even when its a place like Aruba, they do not want to have any bad publicity for a vacation destination like this. Honestly I would not worry about something like this, even though it is major, its not like this kind of thing does not happen in all areas of the world.

Unfortunately Bessie is right and these kinds of things happen all over the world even here at home. The police there are probably as well trained or better than other places and they want to keep you safe or people won't travel there any more.

I was a little worried about this as well, but I think I agree with you all about it being kept safe, otherwise they would lose a lot of business. Stuff like that happens here too, as well as in other countries people may choose to vacation in.

Aruba is very safe. The Holloway incident was a one-off.

Aruba is a small island and I kinda think that managing a small place isolated by sea and ensuring its security are a bit easier than managing a big continental city. So, I think we can trust them.
