Hey folks, don't forget to stay up to date with any jabs you need when visiting this beautiful island. If it's your first visit you will need to get started 4 - 8 weeks before travel, depending on your vaccination history.

I am really glad you mentioned this because we had no idea that we would need vaccinations in order to travel to Aruba. Which ones will we need to get?

Ah vaccinations required for travel. It makes me feel like I'm back in primary school. You know, where you are not allowed in without your shots? I can't remember though, is getting vaccinations required for international travel to Aruba, or just highly recommended so we all do it?

Where can I find out exactly what vaccinations are required? Our children are not going to be happy campers when they hear about this, especially since this is considered to be a vacation. They hate shots!

Best bet is to see your local physician or nurse. They will have all the latest news on health issues. I think you need hep A for sure but the others recommended, (such as yellow fever), are optional. Could be wrong though.

I didn't get any vaccinations for my trip to Aruba, but for a previous trip to Africa I got many vaccinations here at home for seemingly every potential disease under the sun. If you look up your local travel clinic they will know exactly what you need based on where you are going. They were more helpful for me than the family physician because they are specialists in travel vaccinations so they know what is needed. It would be a good idea to check in just to make sure you get what you need.
