It is true that in recent times since tourists from all over the world have started flocking to Aruba all year around, the tourism industry has become the mainstay of its economy. But this tiny island has always stood tall with its self-reliant economy; first with the gold rush of the 19th century and then the oil refinery that opened new avenues for trade for Aruba. Today Aruba’s open economy is pushed forward by storage, oil refinery and offshore banking besides tourism, which makes it a huge attraction for people from all around the world.
