It may sound very strange but one of the attractions on the island of Aruba is the donkey sanctuary. Donkeys were a major form of transportation on the island. The decline in numbers stared when the automobiles started to increase on the island. In 1970, there was an illness that broke out and left only twenty donkeys on the island.

Now a non-profit organization called “save the donkey” makes sure that they care for the remaining donkey population on the island. If you are animal lover, then this is an activity that you must do on the island of Aruba.
