I have travelled before and stayed in hostels, you pay per person and it is usually quite a bit cheaper than a hotel. You do share a common room though, which serves as a great way to meet other travellers especially if you are on your own or with one other person. I ahve had great success with hostels! Also I found a website called hostelworld that you can check out for hostels in Aruba.
