We've been talking about whether the people of Aruba are nice and generous, and it got me to wondering-what do Arubans think of Americans? I know there are some countries where the people will hate you just because you're from America. Aruba isn't like that, is it?

I don't think people in Aruba hated the Americans..just curious on this ..for the sake of discussion.. could it be due to the Iraqi's invasion and the likes?what make you think that hirami?

I don't think that could be possibly determined since the answer will be from different individuals. Meaning their own opinion alone.

What's wrong with American people? I don't think the locals in Aruba would think negatively about you when you treat them nicely. It's just a give and take relationship. ;)

Good point! I think that's how everyone should look at it.

Okay, I just wanted to be sure before I went there. There are some places I believe it's best not say that you're from America.

Well, you don't have to worry now, Hirami. What could be the big deal when you are an American? Anyway, I'm pretty sure there are lots of Americans in Aruba. I don't think they are discriminated.

Really? Then what will happen if you'll say that you are from America? Aren't you proud of your place? I am not actually from America but I'm a little curious about this.;):D

Yes, it' because of that and a lot of other things. I just think that America is losing popularity on the global stage. I personally don't have a problem with America because despite all of the unpopular things that America has done, Americans are usually the first ones on the scene when it comes to disaster relief.

I guess I just feel like someone will want to aggressively confront me and just make me a representative of America and tell me what they think is wrong with America these days--like a one-sided heated debate. I hope that doesn't sound too paranoid, but I've heard of people having experiences like this in Europe, and Aruba is technically part of the Netherlands....I hope that doesn't sound too paranoid.
