Every country (or island) has a name, but where do they come from? Every mass of land that is name has to have an origin, and it's usually tied to something culturally significant to the people who live on that mass of land. What's the origin of the name "Aruba"? Where did that come from, and what inspired the name?

As what I have read, name Aruba possibly originates from Carib oruba meaning well placed.

Do you know what language that those words are from? They sound a little ancient. How long has Aruba had its name? I think that this island is named very appropriately.
