Reeling in the Fun

There is nothing quite like deep sea fishing in Aruba. The Caribbean Ocean is a major hotspot for deep sea fishing and pristine clear blue water with year-round sun. And Aruba is no different. With a slew of various fishing charters in Aruba, you will have no problem finding the right one at the right price for you. Whether you are an experienced fisherman who has reeled in the hundreds of fish that are “this big,” or you have only seen deep sea fishing on television and decided that you want to give it a go, Aruba will be able to accommodate you. For the expert or for the novice, there really is nothing like standing on a fishing boat in an ocean scene fit for a postcard and powering through the reeling-in of a giant deep-sea fish. It can be a memorable experience.

Some of the fish you can expect to catch include shark, wahoo, sailfish, barracuda, blue and white marlin, amberjack, kingfish, blackfin, bonito and yellowfin tuna. These can all be found when deep sea fishing in Aruba. A feature that some fine dining restaurants offer is they will actually cook your catch if you bring it in to the restaurant with you for dinner. Each restaurant has a different policy regarding this and pay scale. Ask the specific restaurants you are interested in if they will cook your catch for you.

Most charter fishing boats come with a captain and skipper who are very well experienced at deep sea fishing in Aruba and have caught their fair share of big trophy fish. They can take you to the places where the fish like to stay to increase your chances of catching something. While you're out on the water, you are also likely to see dolphins and even a whale or two. So even if you come away empty handed and your fishing pole only jostled when you fell into it, you will still have a great day that is a far cry from a day at the office.

Most charters offer half day and full day packages. Typically, half day deep sea fishing in Aruba packages start at about $220 and ranging upwards of $320. A full day will be more expensive, starting at $400 and topping out at about $600 for the full day out on the water with a captain and his first mate.

Just a day at the office...
