so don't let the rain alter your travel dates guys.

Of course, I did not think about that point. I would be horrible for someone to travel during a storm. I would feel bad though for someone who booked a non-transferable or non-refundable trip, although I am sure natural occurrences may be covered as reasons to cancel.

Most airlines can reschedule your flight with a small fee to pay. If the airplanes were grounded then you don't have to pay anything. You might even get a free stay in a hotel near the airport where you will be boarding and the airline company will pay for it. This happened to my brother when his flight was canceled and rescheduled because of mechanical problems of the airplane.

I don't mind a quick storm and then bright and sunny again! That might even be refreshing. I would not want to go to Aruba during one of their storms though. I like sunny and fun while vacationing.

After the rain, it's like the air has been washed. It also cools things down a bit if it's really hot. I've been in Florida when they have their afternoon shower. You just head to a coffee shop or a restaurant and have a coffee and then take off again after it's over. Very nice and refreshing.
