Carnival time in Aruba coincides with Mardi Gras season and it is really a spectacular time to be there. Throughout January and up to the beginning of Lent there are tons of different events to attend. If you can plan your trip during that time I would go for it. Needless to say, Aruba is great all year long, but that time of year is just extra special.

Thanks Toby for that information. I could imagine that time would be especially excellent for solo travelers as there would be more people on the island at that time so more people to meet.

Is Carnival time pretty safe for all ages? When we come I'm bringing my daughter and I want it to be a safe trip.
It sounds like a ball though, so thanks for the tips.

It's pretty family friendly. Certainly not like taking a young adult to the French Quarter on Fat Tuesday ;) The whole island is really very family friendly. You don't see as many kids in Aruba as you would in, say, the Bahamas, but they're around.

I actually never knew this and for some reason I am shocked about that. I tend to study up on the parts of the world (one day I want to visit the Greek Islands too) but I never knew about this at all. How long does it run for?
