I am very observation and I love babies. I can not help but to want to make baby talk. Many Aruban babies will be wearing a chain that has a red and black seed. Why?

Now that I think about it I have seen that. I have also seen them selling something like that in some stores. I have always wondered if they meant something special.

It's interesting to notice customs which have no meaning to us, isn't it? The red and black seed is worn by new babies and small children as a way to ward off the 'evil eye'. I'm not sure how long they wear it for.

Many countries have superstitions such as this. They think that if someone notices the baby and thinks it's cute, then the baby may get sick and die. Sometimes it's to ward off hoaxes they think someone may put on their baby.
