Finding the best restaurants in Aruba can be either a planned agenda or an on the spot adventure. There are guides to the famous restaurants of the area, such as the AAA list, critic's reviews that can be found on the Internet, and the recommendations of the Aruba Gastronomic Association.
Aruba is known for its fabulous cuisine, whether focused on traditional ethnic and Caribbean dishes or faithfully presenting the delights of international fare. It is said that Italian cooking in this resort city tastes like it does in Rome, French like the diner was on the Riviera, and Japanese sushi just like it should.
Specifics of dining in Aruba: if you want to stay with a four diamond certification, the Radisson Aruba is for you. This highly rated resort has a martini bar, a quick snack poolside bar, and three restaurants on site. Gilligan's Beach Grill is an informal choice for beachfront dining, shaded from the sun by day and under the stars at night. The Laguna is where the famous buffets for breakfast and dinner are found beside the cool, fresh water of a natural lagoon.
The signature restaurant of the Radisson is the Sunset Grille, where the food is prepared and presented by 'epicurean artisans'. From six to eleven, this parade of fine food and award winning service is carried to the highest standard of excellence. Of course, room service is available 24 hours, with a full menu offered from 6:30 am to 1:30 the next morning.
If you want a specific type of meal, there are many choices, and the concierge at your hotel will know all about them. For fresh fish, try the Aqua Grill. Gasparito's Authentic Aruban Restaurant and Art Gallery is just what it says, a one hundred twenty year old restaurant devoted to traditional fare (which includes filet mignon) and local art and history.
Gianni's Italian Restaurant features that nation's way of preparing pasta, seafood, meats, and vegetables, served indoors or out. The Flying Fishbone seats you on the beach, where you can see the waters your dinner left only recently, while Smokey Joe's serves their famous BBQ ribs to casual diners, who are smart if they sample all the varieties on the menu.
Steaks are famous in Aruba, as most of the world knows. The Marriott Hotel has one of the best, Ruth's Chris Steak House, where diners can enjoy the American way with beef in both indoor and outdoor seating areas. The El Gaucho serves Argentinian steaks, with charo grilling for the true South American taste. As with all of Aruba's best known places, reservations are always recommended. Many people make them online before they even leave home sweet home.
One of the major appeals of a visit to this area is the food. However, the best restaurants in Aruba may be known only to a few adventurous souls who walked the streets until some instinct made them turn into a small place where the owner will greet and seat them, while his wife cooks the way only she can. Or it may be the wife in the front and the man in the kitchen, of course.

I like to try two or three new places to eat each visit. The rest of the time i do tend to return to tried and tested favorites. What I find amazing is how often the staff are the same and remember you!
