All Saints University of Medicine in Aruba, or ASUM as it is known, is a private medical college located in Oranjestad, the capital city of Aruba. ASUM was founded in 2002 and enrolls students three times a year; in January, May and September. Students attending ASUM will attend 4 semesters in Aruba and a 5th, pre-clinical semester in the United States, before sitting for their United States Medical Licensure Examinations or USMLE, part 1. Once they have passed this exam, students will go on to serve out their clinical residency in a hospital in the United States. Upon successful completion of the curriculum, students will be granted the degree of Doctor of Medicine.
All Saints University of Medicine in Aruba is actually one of two medical schools in Aruba. Both ASUM and the Xavier University School of Medicine follow a US based curriculum, which allows their graduates to practice medicine in the United States upon graduation and successful completion of the United States Medical Licensure Examinations, parts 1, 2 CS and 2 CK. ASUM offers both a Pre-MD and an MD program. Students must complete 90 semester hours in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English and Math before they can be accepted into the MD program.
All Saints University of Medicine in Aruba moved into its current and permanent facility in 2006. The ASUM campus is a little over a mile from the nearest beach and consists of a series of buildings with a medical library, a student recreation center, and 12 lecture rooms. There is no on campus housing but there are student apartment buildings and rooms for rent that the admissions office assists students in finding. The yearly tuition is extremely reasonable and there are 5 individually sponsored scholarships available each semester. These scholarships are awarded to outstanding and deserving students upon the recommendation of a scholarship committee.
If you are interested in pursuing a medical degree and are looking for a small, personal campus on which to do it, then All Saints University of Medicine in Aruba may be just the place for you. Set in an island paradise it features small class sizes, dedicated professors and a close, intimate setting that makes the learning experience a nurturing and exciting one. Whether you wish to practice medicine in the United States, in Canada or in Aruba, ASUM is a great choice in medical colleges. Since it is small and private it has a lot more to offer than just pretty beaches, though they certainly don’t hurt.

Is the school highly equipped? We could seldom find some good schools nowadays and it's good to hear that we Aruba has good universities. How about the security? How safe is the school?
