Flying With Pets

I am not one for taking my pet on vacation, especially on a trip like Aruba. However, I have a friend who will be traveling to Aruba with me next trip who never goes anywhere without her pet. Has anyone traveled with their pet to Aruba and what did you need for customs?

I heard it's not easy to travel with pets. Some countries are very strict about documentations including health certificate. Would you mind to tell from what country you come from? I'm hoping that you're not from South and Central America.

I have traveled locally with my dog but I don't think I would try to take her out of the country. What if for some reason they wouldn't let her in?

Pets are the last things I want to bring with me on vacation. I don't want to go through the hassle of keeping an eye on them when I am lying on the beach.

In know that if you are from the US you have to have a health certificate to leave the country with your pet. I think most countries require this.
