I think this would be a good idea, but you would have to forge a really strong relationship through this forum so no one feels like they are taking advantage or will be taken advantage of, or be ignored in a critical time.

I guess what I mean is someone you get to know and share Aruba stories with when you are not having a holiday, but someone you might be able to contact when you are on holiday if you have trouble, like say a lost wallet or need a ride or are completely lost.

that is a new term "back up buddies"... probably the best term to describe "back up buddies" would be friends that you could depend on in good times and bad times, right?

That's a great idea. You will not feel bored if someone who knows Aruba much is with you. Right? Do you have acquaintances who are familiar with the island of Aruba?
