If you have curious kids who are old enough to have studied the Gold Rush in history class why not take them out to the old mines which are still visible at Bushiribana and Balashi. They say you can still get lucky and find some gold!

Wow that sounds real cool. Are they real mines that you can go down or more like rocks that have been mined? I wonder if people made a lot of money from the gold?

I think there is at least one that is pretty intact but nothing you can go down into. Perhaps the mining is more at ground level? The Aruba gold rush lasted from 1824 - 1916, which isn't bad. I've never heard of anyone making a fortune there though.

If there is still gold there, I find it a little strange that more people are not actively trying to find it! Maybe the pieces are so tiny, they don't amount to much.
